The foolishness of arguing with atheists
by Don Hartness
Lastly, I will post a link each week to an article worth discussing due to its contentiousness, insightfulness, novelty, or some other reason.
This week, I selected an article for agnostics and atheists to weigh in on.
The foolishness of trying to argue with an atheist, published in Catholic Times about three years ago by Father John Catoir, is a slightly condescending piece arguing that belief, or lack thereof, is a question of will, not of knowledge. The article is rather smug, leaving the reader with a flattering unction as to their own beliefs.
Still, some of the points are valid…or are they? I welcome any and all comments.
